Any entities (companies, individuals, or organizations) providing training specific to ANSI/SEIA Solar and Energy Storage Training Standards are eligible to apply. Examples include:
Applications are processed in the order they are received, and the review process takes approximately 30 days to complete.
No, approved courses may be offered multiple times within the 12-month approval period. Notify SEIA of any instructor or material changes.
A new application must be submitted for approval to continue to offer the course under the SEIA Accredited Standards Educator status after the 12-month approval period. New submission is required 60 days prior to expiration to maintain a continuous approval.
No. SEIA Accredited Standards Educators are required to distribute certificates verifying the attendance of all participants. SEIA does not manage the course participation or attendance of SEIA Accredited Standards Educator provided courses.

The Certificate of Completion should be distributed to participants after the course is finished, and the participation has been verified. Individuals with insufficient attendance shall not be given a certificate.
Training hours earned through SEIA Approved Training courses provided by a SEIA Accredited Standards Educator can count towards the certification eligibility Pathway 1: Standards Specific Education requirements. SEIA certification requirements will be published on https://standards.seia.org/certification as more information becomes available.
SEIA is currently not offering any professional certification that requires CEUs. Please see https://standards.seia.org/certification/ for program updates.
We recommend contacting the specific credentialing body to inquire about course credits for their programs. SEIA does not manage other credentialing programs.
Course participation is not reported to SEIA unless the SEIA Accredited Standards Educator is contacted for an audit.
Yes. SEIA Accredited Standards Educators are required to retain records of the standard training program for at least 4 years from the course offering, including all training materials, instructor documentation, marketing materials, and attendance.
Audits may be conducted prior to, during, and/or after a SEIA Accredited Standards Educator course offering. SEIA staff will notify each SEIA Accredited Standards Educator of the audit requirements and if they are selected for an audit. SEIA Accredited Standards Educator who are selected for audits will have 15 days to submit the requested documentation.
Training providers who applied to the SEIA Accredited Standards Educator agree that education reviewers from SEIA will attend approved training courses at no charge for auditing and/or evaluation purposes. SEIA may attend one session of an approved training course per calendar year. Failure to comply with audit requirements may result in denial or rescission of SEIA Accredited Standards Educator status.
